Barpali NAC at a Glance

Barpali is center of art and Craft which is able to place its name in ancient rural India History. It is in the District of Bargarh. The distance from district headquarters is 22 KM. It is situated in between Balngir district and Subarnapur district. It is birth place of eminent Odia poet late GangadharMeher who is popularly known as SWABHAB KABI in Odisha. The birth place of SWABHAB KABI late GangadharMeher has been declared as museum which is known as KABI BHAWAN situated in ward no-08 of Barpali NAC and many visitors visit this place. Though Barpali is a small town so many persons have been awarded national award like PADMA SHREE and others awards in the field of craft/handloom.

At first Barpali was a Block under undivided Sambalpur District in the state of ODISHA. It was constituted as an ULB (NAC) on 4th December 1971. This ULB consist of 11 wards, area is 12.27 sq miles and population as per 2011 census is 20841.
